Clean modern hotel with helpful pleasant staff that can't do enough for you. Fabulous rooftop pool with attached bar, stayed for 5 nights, wanted to stay for longer! Great with children, free underground car park, low room rates. Highly recommended. (A.W)

Stayed for 3 days for sightseeing trip after 10 days in Ithaca. Very clean room and public areas. Still feels quite new. Room more spacious than expected. Lovely bathroom with amazing shower. First room supposedly non-smoking but smelled otherwise. Changed immediately with no problems. Staff helpful, if a little aloof. Lovely breakfast with loads of choice. Rooftop bar with pool and breathtaking view of Acropolis an amazing bonus. Not the nicest area but by no means threatening. Ideally situated a few minutes from Metro station which is a very cheap and efficient way to get around. (Ann)

My wife and I stayed here just one night in June at the beginning of an island-hopping trip, but we would recommend it for longer stays as well. It is not within walking distance to the main sights of Athens, but they are just a couple of Metro stops away.
The hotel is located just a short walk (even with luggage) from the Metaxourgio Metro station. We had planned to take the Metro from the airport, change at Syntagma, and walk from the Metaxourgio station (this would have been only 9 euro for two) but a metro strike forced us to take a 43euro taxi ride instead. (We successfully used the Metro to get to the airport at the end of our trip from another hotel near the Acropolis, and it was no problem, though count on an hour trip.)
The hotel is fairly new, with a “Euro-modern” lobby and room decor – bright colours, simple lines. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, including the rooms. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. There is a terrific view of the Acropolis at night from the rooftop bar/pool area. The hotel has a restaurant off the lobby but we only ate breakfast there, which was a very good buffet.
Our room was large, with built-in night stands on either side of a very comfortable king bed. There was a mini bar alcove with a small refrigerator, a desk/dresser, and a small table with two side chairs. The built-in closet was large and had a luggage shelf. The bathroom was large and modern, with a tub/shower combo, and a fair amount of vanity counter space. The a.c. was quiet and effective.
All in all this was a very good option for a short stay, and for the price and quality it would be attractive for a longer stay. (N.M)

My husband and I loved this hotel, the location with convenient as it was minutes walk from the metro. We were not worried about the area as such, having lived in London, you will see run down areas wherever you go in the world. The main thing was that this hotel was on a main road and it is absolutely beautiful and safe to get to. I have stayed in numerous hotels all over the world for leisure and business. I judge my hotels by cleanliness, facilities and convenience. This hotel ticks all the boxes. The rooms were spacious, with modern art deco features, excellent shower room, fridge, satellite TV and free wireless access. The hotel has a great American breakfast and there is a beautiful roof top bar, lounge and pool where you can relax with fantastic views of Athens. I would be pushed to stay else where if I could not get the same facilities for the same price. This is a good four star hotel which is two stops from the centre on the metro. Would I stay here again definitely this was our second visit to this hotel this year for a period of 6 nights and we loved it even more the second time round. (Traveller from Surrey)

Great hotel next to "METAXOURGIO" Metro station. Good breakfast, great spacious rooms, everything ok. Amazing pool on roof, with a cocktail bar with ACROPOLIS views open til midnight! (S.S)

The hotel is beautifully styled with excellent facilities. The rooms are very spacious as are the bathrooms with great funky and colourful ultra modern styling. The rooftop pool/bar area is extremely well appointed with a beautiful view of the acropolis. Staff were fairly accommodating if a little distance. The area is a little way out from the very town centre but there is a metro stop on the square (roundabout really) on the opposite side to where you enter from the hotel. As two young female travellers we did get hassled when we chose to wander home from the Plaka one night but we didn't feel particularly threatened just annoyed. (Traveller from UK)

Rooms are very well equipped and quite stylish, bathroom excellent, loved the shower. Breakfast is very good with lots of choice; I was particularly taken by the multiple choice coffee machine.
The rooftop pool is quite small but nice for a cool off when the sun shone. The adjacent bar is also pretty stylish and enjoys the same spectacular views of the Athens skyline. While not being on top of the acropolis by any means, the views of it and around the whole city are some of the best I have seen in many previous visits to Athens.
staff were perfectly efficient and helpful. Finally, the hotel is only three minutes from the metro station for easy access to to centre and beyond or the price of 60 euros single for b&b,i thought it was a steal! (Richard)

Great hotel in Athens. Stayed for two nights and were very happy with the stay. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, and the views from the bar/pool on the roof are amazing. Paid only 70 Euros per night (w/o breakfast). A real bargain compared to the other over priced hotels in athens. The area is not the best for strolling around at night though. Daytime, no problem. The metro station is only 100 meters from the hotel. Night time though, it is better to take a cab. (Keith)

The Novus Hotel is Athens is a great wee hotel and is located in an area which to many may appear 'dodgy' but in reality is a good distance away from the likes of Omonoia district which is pretty bad for drunks / junkies. We felt safe in the area and our local contacts confirmed it to be fine.
The hotel is modern and clean and the hotel boasts a great cafe / leisure area on the roof which has a pool and probably has some of the best panoramic views around Athens. (our Greek friend commented on the view and how good it was for what we were paying!). After a day trekking around Athens it was nice to come back here and relax for a while.
The Hotel has Free WiFi throughout (not just in lobby as many hotels do!) and is close to a couple of travel agents if you want to book any trips / ferry tickets. It is also very close to the metro which is only a few stops away from the Plaka and the acropolis.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a middle of the road price with good facilities and well located. (T)

Excellent hotel - clean, modern and a very spacious room. Free Wi-fi a bonus. Breakfast was good. The roof top pool is a fantastic addition and the views from the roof are amazing. Athens is not a cheap city at all, and I thought the hotel represented excellent value for money. The only downside to the hotel is the area - it is well positioned in that it is easy to walk to the main attractions (20-30min walk) but the last 10 minutes are through a very seedy area where I did not feel very safe. Lots of tramps, gangs and drunks. If you want to avoid this, only real option is to take a taxi or the metro. (Traveller from Sydney)

Brand new hotel, minimal, modern design. Rooms are spacey, very well equipped. Free Wi-Fi. Greek civilization ''trademark'' (i.e. Parthenon) in front of you in a breath-taking view from the roof garden.
What else could u ask for? A good price may be? Yes, I doubt if one might easily get all these for 65 euros (breakfast incl.) elsewhere! Friendly and kind staff also! Metro station at 50 m. away! Breakfast could be enriched a bit.. If only it were in a better neighbourhood!
Excellent choice, I highly recommend it!!!! (Traveller from Kavala)

Great hotel! Just opened! It’s a cosy well designed hotel! The beds are very comfortable!
It has an amazing terrace with swimming pool and stunning views of Parthenon. It’s ideal for a weekend stay! I would definitely repeat! (Traveller from Madrid)

I have spent an amazing long weekend in the brand new Novus hotel which is a very stylish, comfortable and friendly city hotel in the heart of Athens. Any transportation means are right in front of the door and therefore this hotel has a great location for all kind of activities like sight seeing, shopping and also business purposes. The roof terrace of the Novus hotel which even has a pool offers a terrific view onto the city. The rooms have a great design and are very clean due to a superb room service. It is a family owned hotel and therefore it has a warm spirit and this special focus on details. I felt taken care of the moment i stepped into the door. I will certainly come back and thank you again for this great experience. (Anna Kristin)

I spent a peaceful weekend at this newly renovated hotel after having been to too many hotels in Athens. I travel to the city often due to work and I look for comfort and sparkling clean rooms to accommodate me after a long day of meetings. The bathroom was an oasis for a tired traveller and the bed very comfortable and big! Also, the views from the roof terrace were magnificent - a contrast of old and brand new Athens. The staff was surprisingly polite and smiled all the time - I really wish that they keep that attitude. The food I tasted was very pleasing and with a touch of home-made cuisine (amazing turkey burger). The room I was given was surprisingly spacious in contrast to the other hotels I visited in Athens in the recent past and the space in general was overwhelmingly calm and serene amidst the sounds of a buzzing city. Oh, and lets not forget the free internet and the free parking! VERY rare in modern life Athens! (Traveller from Thessaloniki))

The Novus City Hotel is a brand new four star boutique city hotel which bears no resemblance to the former Marathon hotel which occupied the same site in 2007. Although there are fewer rooms than before, the hotel has been completely rebuilt offering a chic contemporary environment in the heart of Athens. The service is attentive, the American buffet breakfast excellent and the roof top pool will be great when the weather warms up. All in all, a thoroughly recommended hotel.

I stayed at Novus Hotel for a one night sleep on March 2010. The hotel stuff told me the it is a brand new hotel . I was surprised by the kindness of the stuff. all of it was very helpful. The room I stayed in was perfect. Very modern decoration, spacey, excellent cleanliness. I payed 90 euros for a twin room, which i found cheap, considering the fact than many hotels in Athens not as perfect as this one are much more expensive. Also it haw it's own free parking, which is very important in Athens.
I would absolutely recommend it. (Zoe)

(Traveller from France)

(Traveller from Madrid)
